I Close My Eyes

Najoua Belyzel - Entre Deux Mondes

It's not enough

That we escape, you and me

So that my sorrows are erased

Down here, the world is evil

I want universal love

The one and only, to discover the spark

On my knees, I ask the Mother of the skies

On my knees....in blood

I close my eyes, I close my eyes

I know that I'm heard

I close my eyes, yes, I close my eyes

Hope comes over me

But if doesn't speak

Of loving each other more, you and me

Oh my love

Forgive me

This world makes me ill

I raise my arms towards the light

So that Eden is reborn

Close to my skin, I implore to the eternal

On my knees...in blood

I close my eyes, I close my eyes

I know that I'm heard

I close my eyes, yes, I close my eyes

Hope comes over me

I believe in you (plural), I believe in me...

I close my eyes, I close my eyes

I know that I'm heard

I close my eyes, yes, I close my eyes

Hope comes over me

I close my eyes oh oh oh...

Gabriel
Najoua Belyzel - Entre Deux Mondes

Gabriel,I'm waiting
For a little thought
That your soul plunges into the waters
Of my ocean

Of the Zephyr, of the wind
You lie like a child
Fleeing towards heaven
As soon as your sky breaks

Are you made for Him
Are you made for me
I'm waiting for but one sign
If he's hurting you
You're hurting me
That may be so, but tell me, tell me

Are you made for him
Are you made for me
I'm waiting for but one sign
If he's hurting you
You're hurting me
Tell me oh oh oh oh

Gabriel
My king
My angel in whom I believe
If love spurs from above
Will you make a choice ?

You know how to flee
You die
Fever in your blood
I'm praying for a new era
That you will return in time

Are you made for him
Are you made for me
I'm waiting for but one sign
If he's hurting you
You're hurting me
That may be so, but tell me, tell me

Are you made for him
Are you made for me
I'm waiting for but one sign
If he's hurting you
You're hurting me
Tell me oh oh oh oh

Gabriel looks forward
To more than one thought
More than one pleasure burns his skin
His two wings thrust forward

Are you made for him
Are you made for me

Gabriel...
::::::::::

Note on "him," the original lyrics do not capitalize it. But I have a feeling that "lui" refers to the big guy up there who sent Gabriel down to bear tidings to Mary.
However, at the end of the day, this song basically boils down to this : she likes guy, guy likes guys, girl is not happy. :D

Doctor Gel [1]

Najoua Belyzel - Entre Deux Mondes

As soon as the pain returns

I reminisce my sufferings

And see myself as a child, silently receiving

The touch of an adult

The touch of an adult...

How do I reveal my secret ?

To whom must I confess ?

To be modest, i suppressed

The thought of admitting

The touch of an adult

The touch of an adult...

But Doctor Gel, my two breasts, they're mine

No they don't belong to you, for you to touch like that

Doctor Gel, you're sicker than me

It's so cold under your fingers

Why is that ? Tell me, tell me, tell me...

To all those who can read

Between my lines, my weaknesses

Flee before you're hurt, before you're attacked

The touch of an adult

The touch of an adult...

But Doctor Gel, my two breasts, they're mine

No they don't belong to you, for you to touch like that

Doctor Gel, you're sicker than me

It's so cold under your fingers

Why is that ? Tell me, tell me, tell me...

As soon as the pain returns

I reminisce my sufferings

Doctor Gel, Doctor Gel, Doctor Gel

But Doctor Gel, you're guiltier than me

It's so cold under your fingers

You're sicker than me

As soon as the pain returns

I reminisce my sufferings...

Poorly Healed Wounds

Najoua Belyzel - Entre Deux Mondes

Ice prevents your heart

From inspiring happiness

You come, blown by mistake,

From the dead-end of fear

Love, you lack it by default

But if you're given too much

As always, you turn your back

Without even uttering a word

The weaknesses you believe we hide

Chain you in secret

And leave you with flailed moments

And poorly healed wounds

Yes, to hear you, life is a gift !

And you say you need

To avoid everything that rings false

To find rest

The promises that you never keep

A hundred times, without regret

Leave us like little prisoners

Of your poorly healed wounds

The promises that you never keep

A hundred times, without regret

Leave us like little prisoners

Of your poorly healed wounds

Like leaves falling in rhythm

It's autumn in my skin

I mourn for wanting something new

To send you my echos

For what purpose are these stories we weaved

If nothing changed ?

What's left to us in these shared moments

Are nothing but poorly healed wounds...

Are nothing but poorly healed wounds...

Like You

Najoua Belyzel - Entre Deux Mondes

No I'm not

Like you !

But not this time

Like you !

Spit out words of love

On the one we love

Pour on his speech

A perfume of hate

Play nasty tricks

Pretend to be queen

Looking to be mad

When we lose our breath

Everything against your existence

I used to fill myself, no, without regrets

With everything you've done to me

But I'm not

Like you !

But not this time

Like you !

I'll erase it forever

Your soul from mine

And when this day is born

I won't be the same

Everything against you, I'll break

The mirrors that reflected

Your gaze that haunted me

But I'm not

Like you !

But not this time

Like you !

Spit out words of love

On the one we love

Looking to be mad

When we lose our breath

Whatever comes

These alienating thoughts

I'll cut my veins to heal my wounds !

The One That I Need
Najoua Belyzel - Entre Deux Mondes

There are those who throw themselves at my feet
Who prevent me from walking
Like those who say they're not loved
Who I haven't consoled
And each day, without restraint
They speak of love without having known it
I hear them speak softly to me
But I don't answer !

For it's you who fits me
Who knows how to speak to me
In your arms, I rejoice
The love that I've hoped for
It's not that you're the handsomest
But the one that I need
For thousands of years !

There are those who tell me in danger
Of seeing us entwined
Like those who wanted to confine me
To veil my thoughts
I don't care what they say
On my way I only listen to you
If I force my feet to flee
It's 'cause I'm headed for you

For it's you who fits me
Who knows how to speak to me
In your arms, I rejoice
The love that I've hoped for
It's not that you're flawless
But the one that I need
For thousands of years !

I found my soulmate, my other half, at your sides
i don't have another heart to cross

For it's you who fits me
Who knows how to speak to me
In your arms, I rejoice
The love that I've waited for
It's not that you're the nicest
But the one that I need
For thousands of years

It's not that you're flawless
But the one that I need
For thousands of years

Kisses from Paris
Najoua Belyzel - Entre deux mondes en équilibre

The capital
Makes me sick!
She's having fun while watching me suffer
She imprisons me
Then poisons me
Plays tricks on me so that I feel melancholy

Deprived of the horizon
I lose my mind
And all the dreams that guide me
And it's the pain
That runs in my veins
That puts in place
All the regrets

I'm sending kisses from Paris
Of faded days
Of insomniac nights
Of wounds, sweet kisses from Paris
Of the lack air on yellowed paper

Balloons explode
From sharp claws
From so little love, so little love
I'm sending a bitter taste
A desert with no mystery
And so little love, so little love

I'm afraid of clones
From the phantom train
Afraid of their condemning looks
And where must I go
When I'm losing it
I always feel under surveillance

Twelve months of winter
A sky without light
And no stars to give a hand
Where is it hiding
The life I was promised
Which way do I take

I'm sending kisses from Paris
Of faded days
Of insomniac nights
Of wounds, sweet kisses from Paris
Of the lack of air on yellowed paper

Balloons explode
From sharp claws
From so little love, so little love
I'm sending a bitter taste
A desert with no mystery
And so little love, so little love

Ah, ah, ah, ah
The capital makes me sick
Ah, ah, ah, ah
The capital makes me sick
Ah, ah, ah, ah
I'm sending kisses from Paris

Inner city Paris is the best in the world. It's clean, has good public transportation, away from the marginally coordinated chaos of La Périphérique, etc. However, the banlieus (outlying districts) are a completely different case, that's why they never make it in the tourist magazines. Getting to the city from the banlieus takes skill, and like everywhere else, the banlieus are somewhat self-seggregating. The not-so-recent youth uprising in the banlieus are testaments to that. For an apocalyptic version of the banlieus (which I think is very realistic), I recommend the film Banlieu 13.

BUT...J'adore Paris. 'Nuff said. Every city has problems, some worse than those of Paris, so...don't judge.
One day, I would like to be able to proudly say «J'adore rien. Je suis Parisien(ne)». Bisous !
